北京工业大学（Beijing University of Technology）建于1960年，在校生1.4万名，是一所以工科为主，自然科学、技术、管理、社会科学相结合的北京市属重点大学，1998年正式进入国家发展高等教育“211工程”，成为全国21世纪重点建设的百所高校之一。。1995年，经市教委批准，北京工业大学与加拿大商业科技学院合作创办了北京中加工商学院（CIBT School of Business），专门为北京地区培养精通国际商务运作的现代管理和技术人才。建院十年来，中加学院作为北京地区最早的中外合作院校，分别通过了国务院学位办、北京市教委和“美国西北区院校联合会”的多次评估，屡获好评。目前，中加工商学院在北京设有三个校区，在校生近千名，毕业生三千余名，大多在北京地区外资企业和国内外向型企业担任管理职务。

   

    In 1995, two joint venture partners, Beijing University of Technology and the Canadian Institute of Business and Technology, formed CIBT School of Business in Beijing. Since its foundation, CIBT has been establishing itself as a leading business school providing western-based business training and academic degree programs in China. In recent years CIBT School of Business has passed the accreditation reviews of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education.
